Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program
The development of electromechanical systems in particular is currently associated with the requirement of high reliability and durability as defined in connection with the transition to higher levels of performance and speed. Therefore, the topic is focused on assessing the impact of failures on the part of the electromechanical system's operating characteristics. The aim is to complete the study and diagnosis of electromagnetic and mechanical properties on the vibration generation and application of supply current. The work consists of theoretical, experimental and practical part. The issue is to continuously UVEE resolved within several projects.
Tutor: Veselka František, doc. Ing., CSc.
The urgent need for the development of charging stations for hybrid cars and electric vehicles (EV) still shows as important in the context of the current gradual development of this type of transport. The theme is focused on energy analysis of the concept of charging stations with integrated accumulation and renewable energy sources. Based on the concept will be developed the mathematical models. It will be performed energy-economic analysis in order to verify the possibility of using the concept in this way to reduce the load of the network at the connection point. Direct possibility of cooperation on concrete solution with an energy company is expected.
Tutor: Mastný Petr, doc. Ing., Ph.D.
The theme is focused on the measurement of very small distances and deformation of rotating electrical parts. machines that have a significant effect on the operating characteristics of machines and equipment. The measurement is made modern measuring, recording and evaluation techniques. The aim is to assess and optimize the partial impacts of physical quantities on the characteristics and parameters of electromechanical systems. The work consists of theoretical, experimental and practical part. The issue is UVEE continuously addressed in the grant project, forthcoming international cooperation. Results are regularly published.
Stability of electric power supply is - as a term - closely related with electrical energy production gained from renewable power sources (mainly from wind and photovoltaic power plants). The research will be focused on possibilities of accumulation of electric energy produced from renewable power sources with the help of modern technologies while focusing on hydrogen (VRB systems) utilization, accumulators based on Lithium and pumped storage hydro plants for its accumulation. The result of the work will be the draft measures in the energy system, which can solve time disproportion between electrical energy supply and take-off from the renewable power sources. The solution is connected with computer simulation (Matlab) and experimental measuring on a real model.
Research and development of a new generation of small and special motors with higher specification. The results will be proposals for functional prototypes and their verification. These are mainly asynchronous motors with a power up to 1000 W for a variety of drives. Selection of three types of different performance will be performed. Optimization of volume and consumption of active material, as well as an increase in efficiency. Production and testing of functional samples, prototypes, with help of one of the manufacturing companies, eg ATAS Elektromotory Náchod, or EMP Slavkov u Brna. An internship of 1 month will be possible in TU Glivice, TU Vienna, TU Košice, or TU Žilina, in the extreme case also in TU Athens.

Conceptual solution of an island DC networks where resource base consists of hybrid energy system (photovoltaic, wind turbine, accumulation). The goal is to propose a technical solution of energy system enabling in case of lack/excess energy cooperation with AC network and simultaneously ensure the safe power to the object. The solutions will be also the design and testing of control and monitoring algorithm.
Currently emphasis on introduction and improvement methods of controlling the state of nuclear fuel after being removed from the reactor core is growing. The purpose of these inspections is better traffic monitoring of reactor core influence on fuel state and providing valuable feedback to fuel manufacturers. The proposed thesis will be deal solving questions concerning inspection equipment which will be able to controlling and inspection. These inspection facilities should be able to perform a check irradiation fuel assemblies (FA) with the greater quantity and quality of the provided information. Particularly speaking about geometry checks of FA within they are evaluated changes of twist, extension, bulging and sag of FA, further detailed visual inspection of FA visible parts and besides also checks on content verification of the radioactive material in the FA structure eventually verification checks tightness of individual fuel rods. The work will be examined possible variants of implementation these checks, possibilities of inspection device modular expansion by the design of modular nodes itself securing possibility of checks range expansion and inspections irradiated FA. The work will be primarily focused on design VVER-1000/V320 whose two production units are in operation at the Temelin nuclear power plant, but its results can be also considered into new design of VVER reactor.
