Profile

The study area Power Electrical Engineering (EEN) aims to educate MSc graduates with a profound knowledge of theory and practical applications in the area of electric power engineering. During the study students acquire knowledge not only of generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, but also electrothermal and lighting technology and economics of power engineering. They are able to solve independently engineering problems in all these areas. Depending on their specializations, graduates find employment in technical, design and operation divisions of power generation and industrial companies.

Key learning outcomes

The graduates can obtain the skilled knowledge from the field of the generation, transmission, distributionin and using of electrical energy within the present needs and future development of electrical power engineering. The area of the knowledge extends from the theoretical knowledge up to the practical applications. The graduates are qualified in the area of electrical power engineering. Owing to wide fundamentals of the study branch there is ensured high adaptability of the graduate for the most requirements of his future practice. The graduates of the branch can be applied in research, development, projection and operation of a difficult equipment in electrical power engineering, heavy-current electrical engineering or in industry. In all of this branches they are able to work also as the technical-managers in industry and services.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples

The graduates acquire knowledge of the generation, transmission, distribution and use of electric power with respect to the current needs and future development of electric power engineering. Their knowledge ranges from theory to practical applications in the area of electric power engineering. A high-quality theoretical knowledge and a broad scope of applications-oriented study ensure high adaptability of the graduates to specific requirements of their future professions. The graduates find employment in research, development, design and operation of sophisticated appliances in electric power engineering, power electrical engineering and industry. In all these areas, they may also assume higher executive and management positions.
