Original title in Czech: Automatizační a měřicí technikaFEKTAbbreviation: B-AMTAcad. year: 2012/2013
Programme: Electrical, Electronic, Communication and Control Technology
Length of Study: 3 years
Accredited from: Accredited until: 31.12.2011
Profile
Graduates are able to solve practical tasks in automation of technological processes, measurement of electrical and non-electrical quantities, applied informatics and artificial intelligence, and are able to realize, operate, adjust and repair the above mentioned systems. Within optional courses, students may specialize in biomedical applications, visualisation of technology, implementation of information systems and industrial computer networks. In all these fields, they may assume lower executive and management positions. Instruction is ensured by the Department of Automation and Measurement (UAMT). A wide range of optional courses along with an individual technical project and the bachelor’s final work enable students to focus more closely on automation, control, measurement, applied informatics and biomedical applications. In order to broaden their knowledge, students may also choose inter-disciplinary courses from other study areas in the bachelor’s degree programme at FEEC BUT and also language, economics, management and ecology courses.
Key learning outcomes
General knowledge of Mathematics, Physics, Electrotechnics and Informatics on the Bc level. Practicle engineering in Control, Automation and Measure Techniques. Application of digital systems in industry. All industry technologies, applied Informatics and application of System Science.
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
The graduates of AUTOMATION AND MEASUREMENT have a profound knowledge of mathematics, physics, electrical engineering and applied informatics which meets the standards of lower-level university education. Moreover, they have a specialized knowledge of measurement and control technology, robotics and automation. The graduates are qualified field specialists working within measurement, control and automation systems in all fields of industry where digital technologies are applied. The graduates of this branch of study succeed in professions in diverse fields of industrial technologies and productions. They work in the area of applied information systems and other areas where system approach and knowledge engineering is applied. In all these fields, they can also assume lower executive and management positions. A strong practical orientation of study enables direct engagement of graduates into production, operation and service processes and provides them with a good background to increase their theoretical knowledge in the follow-up master’s degree programme.
