Basic information

As an international student, you can also study at Brno University of Technology in Czech language. The same conditions regarding admission and studying will apply to you. This means that you will not need to pay any study fees, however you will have to prove your knowledge of the Czech language. You can apply for a year-long intensive course of Czech language for foreigners which is organized by the Lifelong Learning Institute at BUT.

Submit the electronic application

After choosing your programme, apply for studying at BUT using the electronic application.

THIRD STEP

Pass the entrance exam and the Czech exam

To get accepted, you will have to pass the entrance exams - these are different for each faculty. In addition, BUT will also ask you to prove you speak Czech at a sufficient level (B1).

FOURTH STEP

Apply for your residence permit or visa

Since you’re coming from abroad to live in the Czech Republic, you will need documents that permit you to stay for a longer period of time. See how to apply for a visa or a residence permit.

Validate your previous education

Before enrolling, you need to provide a validated secondary school diploma or a verified diploma from previous university studies. See how to validate your previous education.

SIXTH STEP

You’re a BUT student!

After the documents are processed, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance and information about the first payment for your studies. Now it’s time to get ready for your semester in Brno.
