The search for new current concepts for the restoration and revitalization of church buildings and grounds in the new social and urban context in the Czech-Austrian borderland. The theme is focused on assessing the potential of existing unused or underused religious buildings and areas for new functions while preserving their cultural architectural and urban values.

The topic is focused on the transformation of settlements in the South Moravian and Lower Austrian borderlands from the Second World War to the present and the prediction of the future. Phenomena that affected the structure of settlements, agricultural plots and the landscape will be analyzed. It is assumed, for example, to carry out an analysis of the demographic development in recent decades, when comparable data are available on the Czech and Austrian sides.
Tutor: Wittmann Maxmilian, doc. Ing. arch., Ph.D.
The English term "governance" is usually translated into Czech as administration and management. In the case of city districts, the issue of administration and management is still undescribed and often arises very spontaneously in the Czech context, through tug-of-war between officials and politicians, transferred state administration and self-government. This is a field where actors with very different interests and motivations meet. However, it is possible to observe a number of different models in foreign examples of sustainable neighborhoods. They bring developers, municipalities, civil society and experts to the same table and offer alternatives that are reflected in the resulting transformation process and the very form of the built environment.
