Vědeckovýzkumná činnost
- Analytical and numerical modeling of electromagnetic and acoustic wave and diffusive phenomena:
- Analytical wavefield modeling: Analysis of pulsed wave and diffusive fields in layered media using Cagniard-deHoop technique -- we developed the generalized-ray theory for EM fields; Wiener-Hopf technique for the analysis of pulsed-field diffraction effects (see here, for instance).
- Computational ElectroMagnetics (CEM): we developed (1) the Cagniard-deHoop Method of Moments (CdH-MoM), which is a fundamentally new TD integral-equation technique enabling the analysis of pulsed EM field scattering and propagation in layered structures (its application can be found here, for instance), and (2) the Time-domain Contour Integral Method (TD-CIM) for analyzing SI/PI on PCBs (more details can found in "Pulsed EM Field Computation in Planar Circuits (CRC Press, 2017)"). Together with its originators (Dr. Albert Ruehli and Prof. Giulio Antonini) we work on (3) improvements of the Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) technique (see here, for example).
- Space-Time Metasurface Electromagnetics: we have developed a truly original and unified framework for both analytical and numerical characterization of a class of metasurfaces in the time domain. The research on this subject is summarized in "Metasurface Electromagnetics: The Cagniard-deHoop Time-Domain Approach (IET, 2022)".
- ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC): SI/PI on PCBs, susceptibility analysis of transmission lines, EM-field-to-transmission-line coupling models, (lightning) electromagnetic pulse.
- Applications of time-domain electromagnetic reciprocity theorems in antenna theory and modeling. More details on this subject can be found in my books "Electromagnetic Reciprocity in Antenna Theory (Wiley, 2018)" and "Time-Domain Electromagnetic Reciprocity in Antenna Modeling (Wiley, 2019)"
- Time-domain antenna-system theory (reciprocity relations, compensation theorems, equivalent Kirchhoff circuit representations, far-field matching condition, antenna forward-scattering theorem etc.)
- Teaching electromagnetic field theory
