O projektu

Experimentální a numerické studium únavového poškozování elastohydrodynamicky mazaných třecích povrchů

Popis anglicky
The proposed project is aimed at the experimental and numerical study of surface initiated rolling contact fatigue (RCF) due to the passage of dents in elastohydrodynamically (EHL) lubricated contacts. The main goal is to provide damage tolerant bearingsteel that can help rolling bearings to survive in debris contaminated lubrication or endure debris damage without suffering serious life reduction. The thin film colorimetric interferometry (TFCI) measurement technique and finite element modelling (FEM)will be used for the study of influence of dent geometry (e.g. size and location), operating conditions (e.g. rolling speed, slide-to-roll ratio and load) and steel composition (e.g. retained austenite) on: - elastohydrodynamic film thickness, - contactpressure, - subsurface stresses, - fatigue life reduction. Obtained results will enable to find a quantitative relationship between all above-mentioned factors with the view to propose empirical life reduction model.
