Multimediální data jsou velmi důležitá a potřebná pro svůj informační obsah. Extrakce informací a obsahu takových dat je však velmi obtížné a výpočetně náročné a je proto jedním z hlavních směrů výzkum v oblasti informačních technologií (IT) zejména v posledním desetiletí a byla i podstatou loňského projektu. Prezentace takových informací je též velmi náročná a je předmětem intenzivního výzkumu. S výzkumem souvisí i vznik nových algoritmů či efektivní implementace algoritmů zpracování multimediální dat, které mohou vést k efektivnějšímu využití techniky.

Multimodal data is very important and useful for its information content. Informatuon extraction of the content of such data is difficult and computationally expensive and as it is important it is also one of the main directions in IT research in last decade and it was also the substance of last years project. Presentation of such information is also important and subject of intensive research. The research is also connected to fast algorithm implementation for multimodal data processing that can lead in better exploitation of computer technology.
