O projektu

The proposed project deals with the preparation of sublimable coordination compounds of transition metals, which behave as either single-molecule magnets or spin crossover complexes. Modification of the ligand’s structures will allow us to prepare compounds that not only have interesting magnetic properties, but also can be deposited by sublimation as thin films on various 2D material substrates. Furthermore, because of the universality of both proposed types of ligands, we will be able to functionalize them with photo-active peripheral groups, which brings the possibility of controlling magnetic properties of thin layers by selective wavelength irradiation. The electronic structure of all prepared materials will be investigated by highfrequency electronic spin resonance and interpretation of experimental data will be supported by ab initio calculations.
