The paper deals with the verification of the simulation module MZELWE using Esp-r programme and its confrontation with experimental measurements. This module focuses upon the calculation of longwave radiation heat exchange between non-transparent external surfaces of a building and its environment. Basic mathematical operations are defined by default sky radiation models. This study analyzes the precision of thermodynamic methods applied by the given simulating module in ESP-r with the aim to highlight the weak points of the sky radiation model that play an important role in the radiation heat exchange during night-time. The experimental measurements in dynamic outdoor conditions were used for this study. The Clarke model appears to be the most convenient among them, having well interpreted the measured course under all circumstances.
