Underground openings are extremely complex structures. The complication is more in case of parallel interacting openings. The demand on stability assurance of the rock pillar zones is essential in this case. The paper shows using a numerical approach by FEM for prediction of stress in the pillar zone between two (three-lane) and among three (two-lane) road tunnel system, which are performed by the NATM. Two pillar width to tunnel diameter ratios of 0,5 and 1,0 have been chosen. Six different rock masses of Prague area viz. Šárecká, Dobrotivská, Vinická, Bohdalecká, Skalecká series and Cenomanian sandstone have been considered to simulate possible geological conditions for each geometrical arrangement of tunnels. The tunnels have been considered to be excavated simultaneously.
