Large-scale integrated magnonic circuits for quantum applications require the operation of nanostructured magnetic materials, such as yttrium-iron-garnet, at cryogenic temperatures. To initialise, manipulate and read out these circuits, different technological challenges must be overcome. One of these challenges is the precise orientation of external magnetic fields at millikelvin temperatures, for example to align the magnonic circuits precisely or to generate different spin-wave modes. Based on recent results, we discuss in this manuscript propagating spin waves in a 100 nm-thin yttrium-iron-garnet film at millikelvin temperatures, using arbitrary magnetisation orientations.
