2 years of HR Award at BUT

Brno University of Technology received "HR EXCELLENT IN RESEARCH Award" / HR AWARD on 12th February 2021.

At the beginning of February 2023, the BUT sent documents from the internal self-assessment to confirm the HR Award. Now the administrative check of the sent documents is in progress (within 4 weeks after sending).Thereafter, the evaluation of the submitted documents will take place (this takes 2-3 months from the approval of the admin check).

As early as 2020, Covid-19 entered into the preparation of the documents for the award, which continued for part of the next two-year implementation phase. Even so, we're still trying to deliver on our action plan resolutions.

The BUT management, the management of the F/U, along with the coordination group are working together on the revisions and the documents production. The main coordinator is Personnel Department (Ing. Bohdana Šlégrová, Mgr. Veronika Slezáčková).

How are we doing in meeting the objectives of the Action Plan?
Here are a few examples of what we have already done, or shortly will:

  • Revision of the BUT Code of Conduct and the Rules Procedures of the Ethics Committee in both Czech and English version
  • A new Selection Procedure rules at BUT taking into account the principles of Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment (OTM-R Policy) in both Czech and English version
  • Translation of documents into English (Regulations, Personnel forms and Documents)
  • Czech-English glossary of terms (employment, personnel, legislation, presentation, etc.) is being created in cooperation with CEITEC BUT and the Department of Internationalization
  • The Recruitment/Selection/Admissions Guide (in comment procedure)
  • The Methodical Directive on Admission Procedure at BUT (in comment procedure)
  • The e-Guide for PhD students in Czech and English (version)
  • The e-Guide for BUT employees in Czech and English (version)
  • The Job Opportunities website was created at BUT
  • An Equal Opportunities Audit took place in 2021 and a document was produced: BUT Gender Equality Plan 2022-2024
  • Regular training of HR departments in recruitment, advertising, legislation, gender issues and language training is ongoing.
  • Satisfaction survey of BUT employees in 2022
