BUT's internal grants have their winners in the competition's second round
The second round of the competition for students of the first to third-year of accredited doctoral study programmes, announced by the Brno University of Technology on 15 September 2021 (deadline 20 October 2021), has been closed and the Rector of the Brno University of Technology, prof. RNDr. Ing. Petr Stepanek, CSC., Dr. h. c. decided on grants accepted and not accepted for investigation.
A total of 28 grants will be supported (25 in panel A and 3 in panel B) out of a total of 85 evaluated grants. In this round, more than CZK 16 million (a total of CZK 16,674,768) will be spent on individual and team grants.As both panels did not utilizes the entire amount allocated to the grants in the second round of the competition, all unspent funds were transferred to panel A in accordance with the competition rules and based on the Evaluation Discipline Panel opinion. Thanks to this fact, it is possible to finance the grant, which was placed first below the allocation line in panel A.
After the publication of the results, students will also be informed about their grants by Decision by post. According to the conditions of the Internal Directive and the Tender documentation, the implementation of grants will start on 1 January 2022 and will last for 12 months.

2nd round of Internal Grant CompetitionThe second and the last opportunity to obtain a research grant through the Internal Grant Competition for doctoral students is here. Do you have an interesting idea, a skilled team, or do you need to verify a part of your work in progress, organize an exhibition or conference, etc.? Submit your project proposal to the Internal Grant Competition and obtain funding for your research activities. The investigation of grants will also include education in project management; you will also receive funds for foreign journey. Last but not least, successful students will acquire skills which they might apply in the future, for example when submitting scientific project proposals to national and international competitions.
The grant proposal can be submitted by students of the 1st - 3rd year of doctoral study programmes who have not investigated the grant within the 1st round of the Internal Grant Competition and who will be students throughout the entire investigation period. The investigator or a team member can be a part of just one grant proposal, while the mentor can be a part of more than one team.
