On the project
Infected burn wounds, non-healing, and chronic wounds are one of the greatest challenges of today’s regenerative medicine. This project aims to synthesize antibacterial nanoparticles that would support tissue regeneration and encapsulate them in capsules with pH-sensitive release mechanism. This would provide pH triggered release of antibacterial nanoparticles when the wound pH changes, which signalizes the presence of infection. Encapsulated nanoparticles can be incorporated into different wound dressings, and hydrogels.
