Study aims

The aim of the study is to provide students of the program Electrical Engineering and Management with basic engineering knowledge and skills in the field of electrical engineering and extensive knowledge and skills in electrical materials and production processes, design systems with computer support, design and production of printed circuit boards, surface mounting, development and construction of electrical products, production processes, technologies and materials for electrical engineering, diagnostics, quality management, ecological and economic contexts. Gain basic knowledge of economics, management and marketing.
The graduate is able to independently solve demanding tasks focused not only on the development, design and implementation of electronic and electrical production, but also on tasks related to design and logistics of production, diagnostics and testing, quality and reliability management and product process ecology. Knowledge of economics, management and marketing will enable him to orientate himself in the issues of production management and its economic evaluation.
Within the optional subjects, the student can profile himself in the field of renewable energy sources and storage, or in the fields of modeling and simulation of processes and design of electronic components and their applications.

Graduate profile

The program Electrical Manufacturing and Management profiles the graduate for independent creative and managerial work in the field of electronic and electrotechnical technologies and productions. The graduate will find employment in electrical engineering practice, in creative work, research and development, in production, in management and managerial positions in electrical engineering companies and companies, or he can continue his studies in a doctoral study program. In the field of electrical production, he will be able to analyze and solve problems wherever knowledge from the fields of electrical engineering, microelectronics, measuring technology and specialized knowledge from areas such as modern design systems with computer support, components and elements, manufacturing processes and technologies, materials are required. for the electrical engineering industry, quality management, production design, ecology of production processes and basics of technical and economic preparation and production management.
As part of the elective courses, the graduate will be familiar with renewable energy sources and storage, or in the areas of modeling and simulation of processes and design of electronic components and their applications.
The program Electrical Manufacturing and Management profiles the graduate for independent creative and managerial work in the field of electronic and electrotechnical technologies and productions.
Graduates of this follow-up master's degree program demonstrate in an appropriate breadth and degree of knowledge:
• mathematical and physical principles of solving electrical and electronic systems,
• modern design systems with computer support,
• design and operation of electrical systems,
• use of materials for the electrical industry,
• production processes and technologies for the implementation of components and elements,
• basics of quality management,
• basics of designing electrical production,
• ecology of electrical engineering and understanding of the impact of electrical production practice on the environment,
• basics of technical and economic preparation of electrical production management,
• from the use of renewable sources and energy storage.

Graduates of the follow-up master's study program Electrical Manufacturing and Management are able to:
• analyze and solve problems in the fields of electrical engineering, microelectronics, measurement technology,
• manage production processes and technologies,
• implement quality management systems,
• design ecological solutions for production processes,
• design electrical equipment using design systems,
• design systems using renewable resources,
• simulate processes and processes in electrical equipment and systems,
• measure the properties of electrical materials,
• design electrical production and processes.

Profession characteristics

Graduates of the study program Electrical Manufacturing and Management will find employment wherever general knowledge from various fields of electrical engineering, computer technology, information and control systems, microelectronics, automation and measurement technology is required, as well as specialized knowledge in areas such as modern computer-aided design systems. , components and elements, production processes and technologies, materials for electrical engineering industry, quality management, production design, ecology of production processes and basics of technical and economic preparation and production management.
The results of internal questionnaires among successful graduates of the program testify to the industry's interest in such profiled students of the MKC-EVM program. 80% of graduates get a job before completing the MKC-EVM study program. The average length of stay of MKC-EVM graduates at the employment office who did not find a job during the study is 14 days.

Study plan creation

Courses are evaluated according to ECTS credits. The credit expresses an approximate weekly student's workload for the course. Credits for a given course are obtained after the prescribed completion, i.e. after awarding a credit, classified credit, or by passing an exam under the conditions of the BUT Rules of Study and Examination, the internal standard of the Rules for Organization of Studies at FEEC and the composition and content individually defined in each course.
In a two-year master study, the student must earn at least 120 credits in the specified credit composition:
70 credits in compulsory courses,
44 credits in compulsory elective (PV) courses,
6 credits in elective courses,

Obligatory courses are usually completed by the student in semesters and years as stated in the curriculum. If a student fails to complete a compulsory course in the prescribed manner, he / she must register it again in the following year of his / her studies.
Compulsory elective courses of profiling fundamentals (PVA) are field-oriented professional courses that profile the student into narrower areas of his / her interests.
Other compulsory (PVB) courses are other professional courses included in the offers of the departments of FEEC BUT. Their goal is to extend students' professional knowledge.
The student chooses to select PV courses in individual semesters so that at the end of his / her bachelor's degree he / she has at least the prescribed minimum of credits in each group of PV courses, while not obtaining the minimum number of credits in one group of PV courses cannot be compensated by exceeding the number of credits obtained in another group of PV courses.
Elective courses extend the general knowledge of students. Courses are chosen by the student himself or herself from a full-faculty offer (FEEC departments) or from the other faculties of VUT (so-called free courses) and can pass them in any year or semester of master study. Elective courses include Physical Education. If a student has not successfully completed an elective course, he / she may or may not write another academic year in the next academic year.
Students must obtain the corresponding electrotechnic qualification at the beginning of their study. Students who begin their study in the year 2020/21 and later, have to fulfil one subject in English for successful study graduation, according to the Guideline BUT To education of foreign languages.

Availability for the disabled

All lecture rooms at the FEEC BUT allow disabled access; students, however, must meet the medical standards to acquire the necessary electrotechnical qualifications. In laboratory classes and practicals, students are required to independently operate measuring instruments and related equipment without endangering human health or damaging property.

What degree programme types may have preceded

The graduates may continue in a doctoral study programme.
