Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program
The aim of the work is the experimental and theoretical study of optical and electronic properties of molecular semiconductors suitable for optical and electrical applications. The applicant will deal with characterization of physical and chemical properties of studied materials, such as generation and transport of charge carriers, conductivity and photoconductivity, optical absorption, photo- and electroluminescence. The effort will be made to reach reproducibility in preparation of molecular devices and propose the technology for their utilization in organic electronic. The work is a part of large-scale research project funded by EU.
Tutor: Weiter Martin, prof. Ing., Ph.D.
The work will deal with study of pi-conjugated molecules using optical and electrooptical methods such as absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, transient absorption, time resolved florescence, photoconductive methods etc. The work will be focused on the utilization of these materials for organic electronics, mainly for construction of solar cells, light emitting diodes, transistors and sensors. The studied processes will cover energy and charge transfer, the existence of triplet states, anihilation of the excited states, processes leading to charge carrier photogeneration, charge mobility, etc. The influence of various dopants will be also addressed.
