Open Access is a new model of scientific communication that creates an alternative to the traditional way of publishing through scientific journals with limited (paid) access. Its objective is a barrier-free, i.e. open and free access to information for anyone interested.

The BUT’s priority is the open publication of most R&D results! Full texts are uploaded by the authors to the BUT Information System via Apollo and subsequently published in the BUT Digital Library after review.

The BUT has signed the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities on in 2013.

In connection with the signing of the Berlin Declaration, the Declaration of the Institutional Policy of Open Access at the BUT was also signed, which was updated in 2018.
