Profile
The students will learn about the problematics of art in the public sphere and about the art world. Theoretical knowledge will provide the student with elementary orientation in the problematics and will be deepened in relevant disciplines according to the students' individual needs.

The students will learn about the issues of art in the public environment, about its social and aesthetic function, about the importance of various political contexts, and the various sociological aspects.

The thematic area concentrates on the research of abstract aspects of painting in relation to architecture of the second half of the 20th century and architecture at present while employing theoretical and historical knowledge in this field. The research concentrates on the role of painting in architecture and its relation to space, light, and at the parametres connected to the concrete solution and its theoretical basis. The problematics of the dimensions of time, space, social, and other contextual aspects and the connection to the individual style of the painter are all linked with this basis. Theoretical dissertation complemented by a practical output, which can either be artifacts, or workshops/a conference organized by the student. The practical part must be documented by a catalogue or a collection of essays by the conference contributors. .

The topic develops the skills of combining and integration theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the sphere of performance art for the reflection and production of a complex artwork trough learning about action forms of presentation and performative strategies of creative interventions in reality. Public presentation of the results consisting of a dissertation and a work of are is the output of the project. .

Public space integrates urban, architectonic, ecological, and designer problematic which all reflect particular historical conditions. The subject of study includes large-scale sculpture, monuments, city furniture, plants. The study is multidisciplinary and reflects the experience the students have hitherto obtained. A theoretical dissertation, or architectural-artistic study can be the output of the studies.

The thematic area focuses on the relationship of man to books and libraries, on the need to build one's own spiritual ZAZEMI and to NAVAZOVAT to the sources of knowledge bothof one's ancestors and peers. Cloister and stately home libraries as well as smaller private libraries induce a specific spiritual atmosphere connected to the singular opportunity to learn about the spiritual world of their owner. Books and libraries are not, however, only toolsfor reading. They are also objects and studying their inner and outer spaces provides anumber of new interpretation opportunities.The output of the dissertation should be a theoretical thesis complemented with its visual, practical part, reflecting the researched aspects - either in the way of “conceptual photodocumentation”or the creation of artifacts (or installations), which in an ideal case could lead to an exhibition with a catalogue.

The thematic area focuses on the delineation of the problematics of pane glass as a medium of artworks. A theoretical study and its public presentation is a part of the PhD. project. An artwork, complemented with the help of a sponsor, and its public presentation will be the final output of the PhD. project. .

The thematic area focuses on acquiring the skills in applying knowledge of current legislature concerning the founding and functioning of a business subject oriented at art business. The studies are aimed at those PhD. students who are already working in art institutions and it broadens their knowledge of management and marketing in relation to the specifics of art management. A theoretical reflection of marketing strategies and an analysis of development possibilities of a concrete art institution is the output of the studies. .

The topic is devised to act as a stimulus to ignite research in the area of marketing, dramaturgy, management, artistic contribution, and communicative principles of small galleries. It is possible to focus on a profile of one gallery or to make a comparative analysis of a certain type of galleries. The dissertation can focus on commercial galleries or on alternative galleries. The theoretical part of the project will research and analyze in detail the contribution of small galleries for the art world. Appendices providing detailed documentation of exhibitions, artists, and other data will constitute an essential part of the dissertation. .

An analysis of international cooperation, initiating contacts and their development of 3D technologies will be subject of this thematic field. The studies will include innovating the students’ own artistic program, but learning the legislature and marketing connected with the running of 3D studios and with the execution of artworks in public space. A theoretical reflection on the present state of 3D works in the Czech Republic in the context of 3D technologies abroad will be the primary output of the studies. Students will be also expected to execute their own artwork created with 3D technologies, present them on a website, and hold a public lecture.

The topic focuses on the research of new possibilities and reflection of present strategies used in multimedia, information, and communication technologies in the works of interdisciplinary character and in the execution of complex or time-based artwork. The topic is open to current perspectives at the problematic of interactivity, to new trends in using media strategie or principles of hyperstructure and digital manipulation while modeling audiovisual codes, narrative forms, or virtual reality and constructed environments, for instance in the internet global space. Artwork usable in the public space supplemented with a theoretical reflection (the length of which will be determined in advance) will be the output of this work. .
